The Relationship Institute - Fred Jakolat
Fred is the Institute's expert in communication skills, conflict resolution processes, collaborative team building and program management.
Fred brings more than 30 years of management experience in the computer industry. He has worked with Hitachi Data Systems, Unisys, Memorex, Century Data Systems, Fairchild Systems Technology, Information Storage Systems, Scientific Control Systems and Texas Instruments in training, marketing, engineering and management positions.
Fred is a certified instructor of I-Skills Zone, Collaborative Team Skills and Couple Communication, these communication and conflict resolution programs created by Interpersonal Communication Programs, Inc. He is a certified leader of the Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment.
He is also an associate of the Wilfred Jarvis Institute, receiving his training as a Four Quadrant Leadership educator from Wilfred Jarvis.
Fred is a graduate of Purdue University with both a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering. He is recently graduated from the University of Nevada , Reno , with an MA degree in communications.
The Relationship Institute - Kathy Jakolat
Kathy is the Institute's expert in relational skills, also teaching conflict resolution processes and parenting skills to first time-parents enabling them to welcome their newborn into a solid marriage.
Kathy brings more than 40 years of family and home management experience to her work with couples and families. She also worked with several companies in a customer service capacity before embarking on a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and receiving her Marriage and Family Therapy license.
Kathy is a certified instructor of Couple Communication, Bringing Baby Home, PREP (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program), PAIRS (Practical Application of Intelligent Relationship Skills), The Power of Two, Smart Steps (a program for families of divorce, and Seven Habits for Highly Effective Families. She is a certified facilitator of PREPARE/ENRICH, a program and inventory to assess relationships of premarital and post marriage couples in an attempt to diagnose possible trouble spots before they get too big. She is a certified leader for the Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment and co-facilitates several Marriage Enrichment Groups (MEGS) with her husband, Fred. Kathy is also a certified Lay Speaker for the United Methodist Church.
Kathy is a graduate of Texas Woman's University with a BS in Elementary Education and San Jose State University with an MS in Clinical Psychology.
